Original: Rather than continue my praise of their younger daughter, Valentina, who cooked alongside them at their small, local hotel, I sat back with the luxury of eyes narrowing in the island sun.
Imitation: Rather than wake up to have dinner, which was so tasty, I stayed in bed and kept dreaming about my future.
I commented on this, but my comment didn't show up... My comment is that I like your imitation sentence, but I'm confused about how you knew the food was tasty if you didn't get up to eat it. : )
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing out that. Actually, I overslept, but I still had dinner when I woke up. That's why I knew the food was tasty.
DeleteThanks.
