What I found interesting about the different collages or doing a collage was

I really enjoyed the experience of describing ourselves as writers through collages. It gave us the opportunity to be a little bit more creative. Moreover, it was clear that everybody has a reason for writing. While some write for pleasure, other write for academic purposes. Still others write only because they are required to. For example, those who only write because they are going to take either TOEFL or GRE.  Anyway, I appreciate everybody's relationship with writing. However, what I found interesting about the different collages was that people were able to represent what they feel toward writing with images and symbols. In particular, a few people were able to talk about their writing personality without even talk about writing. In other words, there were people who were able to explain their feelings toward writing just by talking about personal things such as their life journey, their passion, their free time activities. This just showed me,  once again, that writing is intrinsically related to  who we are as people. Furthermore, the way we write reflect our experiences and points of view. Therefore, now I see writing as more than just a tool that I will need in an academic environment. In fact, I see writing as a way of interacting and expressing our personality. This will cause me to  start  writing more not only for academic proposes but also for pleasure. Thus, the different collages helped me change the way I looked at writing into a better way. Therefore, I hope I can nurture the new-born sense of a writer that is thriving in me.

Writing
Who are you as a writer?

I have had a few experiences with writing in and out of school. Actually, I don’t think I have much experiences  with writing out of school since most of the writing works that I have done have to do with school. This may result from the lack of motivation that I felt toward writing.. However, in school I have had both good and bad experiences with writing. At the beginning I didn’t feel comfortable writing, especially in my native language. For instance, I didn’t like the section of Portuguese test that included writing given that I used to have poor results in that section. However, things changed since I came here.
